With the aim of keeping alive the memory of a facility that shaped the city’s history, the Galerias Fosforeira project preserved the architectural elements of the former factory on the main façades, ensuring the preservation of the original industrial architecture heritage through the integration of modern elements and the reuse of solid brick, as well as the creation of an exclusive interior street that runs through the entire block and enhances access to the shops and/or commercial spaces.
Thus, the rehabilitation of the building of the former Match Factory of Sociedade Fosforeira Portuguesa enabled the construction of a new commercial and residential development, which today integrates and comprises 44 apartments (one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom layouts); a Pingo Doce supermarket; a shopping gallery (with 6 shops across more than 2,000 m²) with various parking areas.
The residential programme was developed with a strong focus on energy efficiency and environmental comfort, incorporating solutions that reduce consumption and enhance quality of life.
The development also includes a range of security solutions that enhance residents’ peace of mind: high-security doors, fire, flood and gas detectors, video surveillance systems and others.
The structural robustness of the building is combined with carefully selected finishes to ensure total comfort in all seasons: solar panels with thermosiphon, central heating with radiators, ARISTON sealed condensing boiler, electric shutters with thermal slats, Orona lift for 8 people.
